Does Cloud PDSC require subinventory locators as was the case in EBS PJM?

In EBS PJM, the project and task attributes were configured as locator flexfield segments so locator controlled subinventories were required. Is locator control also required for Cloud Project Driven Supply Chain or are those attributes handled differently? As a follow up, if handled differently, is there an equivalent of the EBS co-mingle error when trying to transact two project linked batches of the same item into a common inventory locator?
