Does the "Purge" function on Skipped Assignment in OLC (Redwood) do anything?

Summary:

We are on the path of implementing Redwood for ESS and MSS as well as Activity Sequencing for Admins. When testing, we have come across Skipped Assignments, and the option to "Purge Assignment" under Mass Action within that page. However, Purge does not do anything. I am not seeing any Oracle documentation or questions on CCC about this feature. Is this a function that should not appear? Or is there document on the purpose and functionality of this option?
