BI Publisher reporting

I primarily use OTBI for reporting and then copy the SQL from these reports if I need to create a BI Publisher report. I do this because I find it so difficult to find the correct tables and fields outside of OTBI. Is there an easier way to find the table and fields I require by searching through the list of tables and their fields, in the documentation provided by Oracle? I know there is a spreadsheet containing all of the OTBI subject areas, folders and fields, which I find useful for OTBI reporting. Is there something similar for BI
