Validation for adding an absence alongside another

I wanted to check if there is a seeded solution to add validation, where an open ended sickness has been entered. But another absence type for one day has been entered also between the sickness days.

Is there validation that can be applied to prevent any absences being entered, when there is already absence entered for those same dates?
