Long running Action chains

Summary:

Hi! From past comments i see that to run long Action Chains without holding the user, we can fire custom events and listeners. Also we can use the Batch API to process txn together and rollback all if any fail. With the many recent enhancements to VB, could I please check the current best practices? Also can a custom event continue to process running even if the user closes the browser session? Thanks!
