Smart View: How to pull calculation status?

Summary:

How can I pull the calculation status using either a worksheet formula such as HsGet*() or a VBA formula such as HypGet*()?

The "cell display" option being set to calculation status seems to only work for ad hoc grids and I want to pull the calculation status using a formula within a cell instead of using a ad hoc grid.
