Can my customer use both Cycle count using ABC and Item category ?

Summary:

Customer is evaluating and is not having a ABC classification defined for their count program, and they will have item categories setup in PDH
Is it possible to use both the options of Cycle count by Item category and by ABC if the items are segregated depending on the count program and there is no overlap ?
