Support of Department of Education's May 22nd, 24/25 ISIR Updates

On May 22nd the Department of Education released an update to Volumes 4,5,6 and 7 of the FAFSA Specification Guides.  Those updates can be found here.  After review, we determined the following updates would be needed for SFA.

Volume 4 Updates

  • Valid Content was updated:
    • Removed "W - Waived" from ISIR field numbers 583, 585, 589, 591
    • Added "R = Exceeded loan limit and reaffirmed debt" to ISIR field numbers 663 and 636
  • ISIR Correction Layout Update
    • Added a new field number 34, which will be used to provide the student's date of birth as it appears on the student's ISIR record being corrected. This field is used to identify a student record, not correct the student's date of birth
