Expected Performance of Option Added During Lease Contract Creation

edited Jun 12, 2024 7:22AM in Lease Accounting 1 comment

Summary:

What's the standard performance for options added during the initial creation phase of the lease contract? Should it directly update the lease amortization schedule, even without actually exercising it?

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We would like to understand the expected performance of lease option function. Observed that if an lease option is added to an active contract through amendment, if would update the amortization schedule (and lease term if applicable). However, if we create the lease option during the contract creation phase, that is before it even go activate, we have encounter inconsistent system performance.

Howdy, Stranger!
