What happens when we have an item to use full lot controlled and stock control as dynamic entry

edited Jun 13, 2024 3:09PM in Inventory Management 31 comments

Summary: Clients want to implement locators to store items, but the items attribute on PIM is set up for full lot control. Additionally, the attribute for the items, stock locator control, is set to Dynamic Entry. They currently use the following picking rules:

  • Priority 1: Lot FEFO (First Expiry First Out)
  • Priority 2: Subinventory receipt date ascending

The issue we're encountering is that when a sales order is raised and submitted, the system forces the user to enter a staging locator before the pick wave can be released.

Our expectation is that since the picking rule is set up as Lot FEFO, the system shouldn't prompt the user to enter a staging locator, as the user wouldn't know which lot is expiring at that point during the process of creating pick wave.

Howdy, Stranger!
