EPM Agent Exception

EPM Agent has stopped working with the below error:

Exception: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error occurred while calling EPMI agent: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: validity check failed

We are using the synchronized agent, I tried re-installing the EPM agent however no luck. Does anybody know what this issue is?
