Issues with edit learning activities in a spreadsheet - The remote server returned an error: (504)

Summary:

We are getting the following error when trying to edit learning activities in a spreadsheet: The remote server returned an error: (504) Gateway Timeout

What we've noticed is that the items we put to update push through but then do not get reflected in the in progress screen. Example below showing user progress 5/34 but if you check manage activities 8 have been completed (received the internal service error 3 times for 3 different activities).
