How to set up Barcodes for use with Mobile Inventory - actual use case please

Summary:

There is no specific guidelines on how to setup the barcodes. I tried to associate the GTIN number for the item but the system is not able to associate the GTIN barcode with the item. In the Mobile inventory, the option is for item number or MPIN only and it does not include the GTIN.

For now, our option is to use QR codes for the item, PO numbers and the like.
