Is it mandatory to pass secondary quantity in Physical Inventory API for items with dual UOM?

We're currently using the VBCS Excel Plugin to bulk upload Physical Count Results. We noticed that the physical count API requires us to include the secondary quantity, but it's difficult for users to calculate this value. We're trying to understand why the API expects the secondary quantity when the primary quantity is already provided.
