Delete/update a period with Data Management data

Unable to delete /update Application period with Data management data.

After configuring the application periods for TM and Account reconciliation for our current client in his test instance, we noticed that one of the Prior Period Keys was not set correctly, so when we tried to update or delete the period, it was not possible to complete the action because it had some data on Data Management, we tried the following possible solutions:

a) Use the purge all data

b) Maintain Data Table by application.

In both cases, we could delete by location or Target application. Still, we would like to know if there is a better way to do it without going location/target by each one individually or cleaning up a complete data balance.
