Multiple Transform Work Definition of a product -Discrete Manufacturing

We have a requirement to have multiple transform work definition of a product A.
System allowing to have feature of WD version but not allowing to change the "Transform From Item"

How to change the "Transform From Item", while creating the new version of WD?

Example-1 : Product A can be produced using the Product X
Item : Product A
Transform From Item : Product X

Example-2 : Product A can be produced using the Product Y
Item : Product A
Transform From Item : Product Y

Example-3 : Product A can be produced using the Product Z
Item : Product A
Transform From Item : Product Z

We were trying some workaround to fill the business requirement, we tried to create transform WO without defining the WD, But the issue here is Serial Control check box is not getting checked at WO level.
