supplier Portal security

Summary: If we are not implementing SSO for supplier portal and asking suppliers to use their Local logins for supplier portal how do we ensure that the security is not compromised when the suppliers user leave their companies , they will still have access to those local logins is there any way to overcome this security business challenge
