How to automatically return backordered quantities to main subinventory

Hello,

I have an issue please.

I have a sales order for an item x with quantity 10, I picked the quantity so it transfered from FG subinventory to stage subinventory.

I shipped only 5 of the 10, then 5 are awaiting billing and the other 5 are "Backordered".

Is there anyway to automatically return those backordered 5 to the FG subinventory, or they have to remain at stage subinventory and then returned manually to the FG subinventory?
