Feature or bug: SmartView does not drill down to implicitly shared children

Summary:

In SmartView, we have an alternate hierarchy that includes parents that are shared with the primary hierarchy, and whose children are implicitly shared. When we select the top member of the alternate hierarchy, and select to zoom in to the bottom level, SmartView zooms in to the first shared level, but not down to the implicitly shared children.

Is this known behavior? Is there any setting to make it not behave this way?
