How do I report production in secondary UOM (unit of measure) via REST API

Summary:

We have a use case where we want to report production via REST API using only an item's configured, secondary UOM relying on the configured conversion factor to derive the primary UOM. This is as opposed to having to provide a quantity in secondary AND/OR Primary UOM. We are currently reporting production using the REST API "operationTransactions" but it appears that what we need to do is not directly acheivable. Is there any way of accomplishing this directly without having to make an additional, preceding call to obtain a UOM conversion?
