Duplicate supply created for PTO items (Kits) in constrained Supply Planning

Summary:

We are observing duplicate demands for the components of PTO items (kits) in Supply Planning. When a sales order is created for a PTO item and is collected into supply planning, planning generates duplicate supply for its components –

  1. Dependent demand generated from the SO of PTO item

2. SO demand generated directly for component (Same SO)

Note that we are running a constrained supply plan.
Any experience why this might be happening?
