Planned Order Qty calculated wrong when the item has both "Safety Stock" & "Fixed Days of Supply"

Hi,

Below snapshot is from attached oracle document

As per this document,

If Fixed Days of Supply = 7, then

planned order quantity for day1 = Total demand ( day1+day2+day3+day4+day5+day6+day7)+( safety stock for day7 - safety stock for day1) - scheduled receipts

Ours is constrained supply plan with daily buckets. I can see that planned orders are getting calculated as per the formula when safety stock = fixed quantity loaded via FBDI.

But for items with safety stock quantity = days of cover, the above formula is not working. Planned orders are getting created with random quantities and some times these quantities are greater than total demand.What might be the issue here? Is it a known issue?
