Global Segment, what is the purpose of the prompt Column? (Project Descriptive Flexfield)

Summary:

In the Project Descriptive Flexfield, there is a Global Segment that will be added to the Project's Additional Information in the UI. We have a column named 'Prompt,' which is what we see in the UI. If I change the name displayed in the UI by editing the 'Prompt,' is it possible that any reports or templates could be affected?

Or Prompt is only for displaying in the UI?
