How can I determine if a project is associated to a burden schedule?

Summary: My organization has several boundary systems that submit expenditure transactions to PPM. On a daily basis we generate a file with all the active sponsored projects. This file is used by the boundary system to validate that the sponsored projects are active, the expenditure date is within the project performance period and some other parameters. The issue we are having that when the transactions are imported, if the sponsored project does not have a burden schedule associated to it, the transaction is rejected.
