How to clear values from an Eloqua contact field?

We have a contact field marked for deletion (with a checkbox) in Eloqua that currently has 3,098 entries set to 'Y'. Despite 'Y' having no true value, it continues to cause confusion for users, as it is particularly misleading. Is there a way to remove or clear this value from the field?
