EL Expression not working for quick actions

I've written the EL expression to make the Create Course quick action available for people with tour custom learning specialist security role. I also have that security role but I can't seem to get the expression to validate as 'true'. I have checked spacing etc and written it in Notepad to ensure it complies with the rules but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Expression - #{securityContext.userInRole['GOW_WLF_LEARNING_SPECIALIST_JOB']}

Is anyone able to help?
