Forfeiture of hours after 365 days

Summary:

We have an accrual plan that would get 80 hours via manual adjustment when an employee experiences a specific situation. The employee can use those 80 hours within 1 year of him/her receiving the 80 hours. Once 1 year is passed, all those hours should get removed. Can the above functionality be achieved via Absence Plan setup or will it require a FF? Can someone share some possible solutions?
