How get the action code updated when we modify simple products

Summary:

We have simple products(quick add items) created as asset. When we want to modify the simple product from ABO work bench, the item is being added with "-"(no update) action code always. If qty, start date/end date or any other line level attribute modified then is there any systematic way in ABO libraries to get the "update" action code?
