How to ensure change in course expiry period will reflect in completed assignments

Hi All,

We are currently changing the validity period of some courses, and we have two scenarios - a) course expiry was earlier blank and now has a value, and b) update the expiry period from one value to another: example 5 to 3 years.

we understand that the future assignments will automatically be created with the updated course expiry period. Is there any way to ensure assignments that were completed before the change in the expiry period also show the updated course expiry period?
