Not able to find employee in person management

I am not able to find a new hire employee in person management after hiring them.

I tried running the following processes: 'Update Person Search Keywords', 'Send Pending LDAP Requests'. but the issue still remains, am still not able to find the person.

and i also tried rehiring them but when i enter the person number i get the error that a person with the exact person number already exists. which is the same person am trying to look for because i entered the same person number.

what could be the possible reason for this and how can i fix it ASAP?
