Is it possible to Disable Costing once it has been configured.

Summary:

We need to track inventory but do need costing. Originally we went live with costing configured on Feb-2024. We have entered all historical transactions at zero cost. It will be easier to just disable costing so we do not have to go through the month end costing process. All items were setup as Costing Enabled. If I update the items and disable costing when I tried to create a work order I no longer see the output items where costing has been disabled. Is this feasible? If it is what is the best approach?
