Why does the metrics stop working

Summary:

I have gaps in the metrics graphs in my OCI instance compute metrics section

I have noticed that my python app stops responding during these times - it seems to happen several times a day but is only a recently started - last couple of months. prior to this it was fine.

I don't know where to look to see why.

The gaps are always where there is a spike in all activity on the server.
