Is the Clone Environment using a maintenance Snapshot or the current live App?

Hi all

I have a doubt: According to this document:

it seems to reference a "Snapshot" when doing the Clone Environment. However, I always thought that the Clone Enviroment is using the Current live Application and not the latest maintenance Snapshot. There is no option to select any Snapshot as such during the process.

Could someone clarify this point for me?
