Substitute item using Generate Shipment request

Hello Experts

I know there is a feature for Item Substitution during Pick Release of Transfer Order.

We have integration with WMS (External System) and have reservation behavior is full reserved.

Now when we will run Generate Shipment Request, will system consider Item Substitution transfer Order and reserve inventory to substituted Item and drop that Item to WMS for further shipment??
