How to disable Role Delegation, while maintaining functionality for Approval Delegation.

Is it possible to turn off Role Delegation and keep Approval Delegation turned on?

Under Me > Roles and Delegations > Account Management page, we would like to maintain the ability for Line managers to delegate their approvals to someone else while they are on Vacation or OOO, (Approval Delegation), but not enable them to do Role Delegation.

Is this standard / possible? What would best practice be to achieve this?

p.s. - the reason we want to turn off Role Delegation is because Approval Delegation by itself will meet our business requirements, and I do not want to introduce additional complexities with Role Delegation. Also, I understand there are downstream impacts, and potential security concerns as mentioned in the linked documentation. "before enabling delegation on a role, you should carefully assess the downstream implications of doing so."
