Can I add validations on Oracle External Supplier Registration Redwood app

Summary: On the Oracle Supplier Registration Redwood app I see this event available and it clearly says that this event can be used to configure additional validations for the supplier registration flow when company details are saved. However the action chain that we configure for this event does not trigger when we click on the Save button.

I have seen a business rules tab available as part of the layout for this app but that only allows customer to make a field read only/required, assign defaults etc, there is no capability to add validations.

Is the External Supplier Registration Redwood app not extensible in that way so as to call external API for additional validations?
