Does OLC - New Learning Assignments Alert (WLF-00010) work for voluntary enrollments?

The seeded alert WLF-00010 alert from condition it looks at all assignments (required/voluntary).
We are wondering if anyone knows if New Learning Assignments Alert (WLF-00010) work for voluntary enrollments and self-paced offerings as well?
If not, is there anyway we can tweak the current condition and make it include voluntary enrollment as well?
