Fusion Fixed Asset Requirement : Amortization without Depreciation

Summary:

We have a client requirement for Fixed Asset module to use Amortization without enabling the Depreciation. our understanding is that amortization works more like an adjustment along with depreciation and there is no separate functionality for this.
anyone has any idea and thoughts for this requirement, Please guide.
