What exactly gets removed when running Complete Sync for categories in a Cycle Count definition

Summary:

When I create a cycle count using option of categories, then I select the categories and run Complete sync to add the Category Items.

Then we update the Category Items for subset of items to have the 'Include in Count' flag selected.

I was under the impression that if I run Complete sync again, all info is removed, given the documentation for ABC and Complete sync. It says in user guide:

  • Complete: Use during the initial creation of a cycle count. During synchronization, the entire contents of the designated ABC assignment group replace whatever is currently in the cycle count tables. Whether you add, remove, or change classifications of items in the ABC assignment group, when in
