IF/ENDIF Causing operator expected after [FIX] Error

Summary:

I am receiving this error "A method called by the script failed on line: 4488, with error: Error compiling formula for [COM, at or after line: [" FIX("CVA","Eliminations")"]] (line 33): operator expected after [FIX]" in the block of code below, this block works in different areas of the groovy script when it is not "COM". Why would changing the "COM" value cause the rule to work?
