Custom BIP Report - Mandatory Param at ERP for EPM integrations

Custom BIP Report integration to EPM does not work unless there is a param at ERP end. Why is this setup like this and does this work without params? We are integrating with Oracle Product Hub where we do not require any params like Period, Year etc. but we are now forced to use one dummy parameter as the integration fails with generic error (file not found on UCM but it does exist) and once at least one param is provided this works. We are loading to BegBalance at EPM end and sometimes this dummy param tries to match this
