What is the impact of removing ASLs all together?

Summary:

ASLs are not being maintained appropriately and seems like an overhead maintenance. We have BPAs and PIM settings for order modifiers and lead time. Will there be any impact(legal/compliance/functionality wise) if Approved Supplier list entries are removed all together?
