layered inventory cost adjustment not showing inventory when it does exist - Help needed

Summary: We are currently trying to submit Layered inventory cost adjustments to zero out inventory we are currently holding for clients. When searching for the specific cost to adjust the 'remaining receipt quantity' shows 0 (1st screenshot). We know there is inventory cost that exists, as you can see when searching to do a 'receipt cost' cost adjustment (2nd screenshot).

Why is the inventory not showing up when attempting to do the 'layered inventory cost' approach, but does when trying to 'receipt cost' approach.

We would prefer to not proceed with the receipt cost approach as it creates journal entries that our accounting team would prefer not to have sent to the GL.
