How to have expiration date based on initiative to auto update for renewal assignments

We’ve configured a learning initiative to auto assigned training course for all new hires and rehires. Below is a screenshot of what that configuration looks like:

This set up is working as expected, but we noticed for renewal assignments, if someone returns to the organization, their renewal assignment shows a past expiration date. For example, if a new hire originally starts with the organization and completes their first training on February 1, 2024, this course will be valid until January 1, 2025. If the same person leaves the organization in 2024, and returns in March 1, 2025, their renewal assignment reactivates and will show the assignment date as of December 31, 2024, with the offering assignment date as of March 1, 2025, and will show this
