Item definition for one item having multiple sizes

Summary:

We are implementing in a pharmaceutical company and have a scenario where one product may have multiple sizes. For example Item A has sizes of 1-50 (50 sizes, Item B has sizes of 1-40 (40 size). What should be the way to define these items? There are multiple challenges. We have more than 1000 items and every item has multiple ranges, if we start defining items, every UOM code has to be defined, then every size to be defined as separate item code. Any suggestions how to cater this requirement.
