Two Replenishment Types for the item

The customer's requirement is that the same item (child item) can be used in a replenishment wave to fulfill a shipment or can be used within the work order flow to create a Parent Item.

To achieve this, the item should be able to have two replenishment types, but the WMS does not allow this configuration.

What can be done to meet the scenario in question?
