Can the asset life be increase after adding to asset or assign parent/child?

I would like to know if there any feature available to increase asset life after adding asset (It could be Add to asset to asset addition and track as parent/child asset which the parent and child asset have different asset life).

For instance, Parent asset A has asset life of 5 years, but child asset B has asset life of 3 years, so after adding Child asset B to Parent asset A, would it be possible for asset life to increase for 10 years or plus the asset life using child asset (5 + 3 = 8)?

Another instance, asset A has asset life of 5 years, new source line has asset life of 3 years, so after adding new source line to asset A, would it be possible for asset A life to increase for 10 years or plus the asset life using child asset (5 + 3 = 8)?

Can the asset life be increase after adding to asset or assign parent/child?
