Unable to update Bank Account use as Payables/Receivables under Manage Bank Account

Under Manage Bank account set up we are not able to update the Bank account use and field is greyed out. However I can see in another instance these fields are not greyed out and I can untick these fields.

Can you help me to know which setup or lookups affects these fields on being editable or non editable?
