Background
Salesforce REST API allows developers to programmatically trigger the default Lead or Case assignment rules in Salesforce. This can be accomplished by making a POST request to the appropriate API endpoint with the necessary parameters. The parameters required to trigger the default assignment rules include the record ID, owner ID, and any additional information needed by the assignment rule. Once the POST request is sent, the default Lead or Case assignment rules will be applied to the record, and the owner of the record will be updated accordingly.
