What determines POV dimension order in a Smart View ad hoc grid for a Freeform ASO cube

We have an ASO cube in a Freeform Planning EPM business process, 14 dims incl. Scenario, Version, Year, Period and Entity dimensions.

The order that POV dimensions first appear in a newly created ad hoc grid in Smart View has changed but we cannot identify why.

Issue:

When a new grid is first created in an Excel sheet, the dimensions now appear as:

Row header = Account, Column header = Period

POV (1st row of worksheet) = CCProgram, Category, Entity, Year, Scenario, Version, TimeView, Region …..

The order of the dimensions in the POV has changed but we cannot identify what caused this change. That they have changed suggests there is an underlying process or logic that determines the order in which they appear.
